hook sizes

hook sizes go like this:
smallest 24,23,22,,,,,,0/1 then 1/0,2/0,3/0,,,,,,,,,10/0 biggest
i use 1/0 for general beach fishing remember small hooks can catch big fish but big hooks can't catch small fish.

I can only comment about the Fylde coast in Lancashire but I use size 1 as a general fishing hook. But have had larger fish 4lb codling on size 2 (smaller hook) and smaller fish dabs and flounder on 1/0 and 2/0 (larger hooks) very confusing. Best info is talk to other anglers in your area or your local tackle shop.

No one is going to laugh at you or think your daft. Weve all had to learn. DONT be frightened to ask questions or post questions on here Very Happy
