Re: report bridlington boat trip 27th 12.09
Hello All, I was looking forward to this boat trip, since putting name forward. Got into Bridlington nice and early myself and Ste (my mate) still excited and raring to go the others followed first Chris and Jonty then buster and the gang. we All got kitted up and a quick team talk by Chris, who I would personally like to thank for all loan of boat rods, rigs and leads, for those of us who did'nt have any. Thanks Chris. swiftly moving on the weather was rather on the cold side (freezing)
but did not stop us we got onboard then out to sea we all got settled and set up, we had a wide range of baits: macky's, squid, sand eels, prawns, lug worm and mussels, so cant say we did not try, the sea was not too bad pretty calmish at first and we sailed out for 20 mins to the spot we started fishing to not much success
but the banter was good and we all had a laugh, my mate Ste was the first catch with a takable coley, full marks to mick our captain who did everything possible to make the day a success, even when he found the big wave's
but was not meant to be Dave's (Buster) mate Chris caught a nice Coley too then my mate caught yet again a lot smaller and then Ron (buster's mate) wi a Dab then that was it we were all burnt out around 15:00 and we all agreed to bow out, I started to real in when i thought does not feel right, no fight but heavy lifting, to my surprise a nice size very eatable crab
any way there you have it folks. Q. will i go again? A. cant wait for the next one, bring it on.

Re: report bridlington boat trip 27th 12.09
Very bad luck lads. Where have all the fish gone??????
Got to feel sorry for the first timers, not a good initiation to boat fishing.
Did you fish off Flamborough or is that a no go area now?
Gordon

Thats very unusual at Bridlington, fishing at anchor. All my trips have been drifting marks and wrecks. I presume you fished close to shore in relatively shallow water then?
