Need to get out

Post  Tripitaka on Sun Nov 29, 2009 9:56 pm

Forgive me, for I have sinned. I have spent the last couple of months...I can hardly bear to say it...carp fishing. I tried to redeem myself with a couple of piking sessions but I still feel guilty. Embarassed

I went up to Arnside on the pretence of a walk with the family but I needed to "case the joint" as I hadn't fished it before. I got lots of conflicting information off several guys fishing but decided to use the info off the guys that had a bag ful of fat flatties rather than the ones who were blanking!

I need to get out to fish the salt but haven't the opportunity to fish Anglesey until the Christmas break which means I need to wet a line round the Fylde. This weekend is out as is everything after the 11th until New Year, so I guess its this week or next!

If anyone is planning a session, let me know and I'll join you.

Mark.

Laughing

You guys kill me.

I think a daytime session to Arnside might be on the cards; I'll need to check the tides. Any advice from you guys will be more than welcome. Seems that low water on springs was the favoured time but with a schedule like mine, I'll need to take what I can get.

Biggest prob with Carp fishing is that they don't taste nice and you HAVE to return the big ones

yeah strange innit Very Happy

i suppose its cos the rest are very muddy and have a bland taste ( did try eating them after a couple of days in fresh water to get the muddy taste out but still didnt like it, Doggys are easy as long as you drain the blood out quickly, no ammonia then, ( it was called rock salmon at one stage if i am correct ) and is very tasty with no bones Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
