Re: Pumping Black Lugg
I use my wide bore pump to exercise, saving on gym
and no worms in bucket, it means i buy worms,so it means i dont save after all... Would be glad to learn how to pump worms proper, but by the looks of it - its a long process to success. And im not giving up yet!!
Some of our guys on here knows how to do it so u need to meet them and give it a go. Good luck

hi mate
well come to the site ben. first of all what make of pump is it and what size is it as there are quite a few makes and sizes
if you have seen blow holes there not black lug they are blow lug you will have to go a little further to get black and yes
in the winter when it gets cold they can go deeper but where have you seen the blow holes. Im sure if your out one of the guys
will show you how
The guys on hear don,t class them selves as pros but are just there to help out when people need bait which is what a forum site
should be used for i have seen some sites that don,t allow people to do this so then my question would be what is the main purpose of
a forum if it is not to give fishermen good local info im sure i would want it if i went fishin somewhere else at least you know if you come fishing hear
you can always get in touch with someone for bait and friendly advice from a site where the members make a difference

Re: Pumping Black Lugg
Welcome to the site Ben,
as the pump, it seems to me you have got the wide bore version ( cringe ) smaller bore is far better, just ask mrs correctus and her adventures with the JCB as i called it, she has a wide bore as well, we called it a JCB cos it shifted more sand than any of the others,
best way to use the pump is to find the SPIRAL TUBES CASTS and look for a hole in the centre, thats the casts that the pump works best on, imagine a X 3-4 inches away from the cast and at a very slight angle ( vurtually upright ) insert your pump about 6-8 inches ( making sure the pump is lubed of course ) then pull back on the handle after that all you need is practice and a thinner bore pump ( pumping directly over the hole ' almost ' never works, so going just to the side fools the little blighters cos they dont burrow straight down they angle and twist and wedge themselve in )
Hope this helps
but remember practice makes perfect and being shown is even better
