saturday 17th oct, Heysham North Wall
Ok I Know this is a bit late but I,m having computer probs again.
I decided to meet my daughter and John at Heysham as its their weekend off, we were going to do the silly o,clock 10.1m tide. We met up there at 5pm and went rig hunting in the mussel beds, I,ve never seen the tide so low. We got ourselves 9 rigs but no fish on them.
Had a chat with 2 lads who,d been fishing right off the end of the mussel beds into the main channel, they,d been there for 4 hours and only had 1 whiting just as they were packing up, which didn,t look good for us.
Well we fired up the kettle and tackled up and waited for the water to reach us. We cast out at 9.30pm and John was the first into the fish with a fat 9 inch dab, on rag and macky. At about 11 pm I got the first of many whiting all just under taker size. They came in on both rag and macky and lug and macky. A lad about 30yds down from us had found the doggies but only on sandeel. He had 10 or more. We packed up at 2pm with nowt to take home ,but at least we didn,t blank.
While we were there we met a newby to sea fishing called Dave. He got his first ever whiting. He goes on a couple of other websites so I told him about this one, he comes from Yorkshire and goes under the username Bernie1974. He,s keen and sound.
