Jaywick Beach - 13/09/09

Post  blakdog on Mon Sep 14, 2009 10:58 pm

Thought I'd have a quick go on Jaywick Beach on Sunday night as I've not been on the beach yet and I needed a few hours out of the house. I grabbed a few frozen blacks and headed to the golf club end plonking the first bait out just before dark.

Although there was a fair boit of colour in the water, there was a severe lack of tide and it wasn't too much of a surprise that the fish didn't really paint the town red. I ended the stint with 2 Whiting of 8 oz tops but given that I haven't fished jaywick for about 20 years I was pleased enough not to have blanked.

Its on the Essex coast .... near to Clacton. Beach is okay, St Osyth nearby is better. Ultimately I live 400 metres from the tideline so I really can't complain too much.

I can't see the water unfortunately as its all flat ground and i'm amongst a lot of other bungalows but we back onto salt marsh and meadows and the sun sets right behind us .... summer evenings here are absolutely magnificent!

At night though I can hear every wave break on the beach and you can smell the sea Very Happy
