selsey east beach 24/05/09

Me and ed decided to fish our second night and take the drive to selsey east beach , picked ed and the sloth up at the gosport turn off and made our way there , arrived at 7pm to beautiful warm sunshine and proceeded to set up , was a good hour before the tide was high enough to chuck a bait out , so sat back and chilled out after a barny with the missus over 3 nights fishing in 5 days (only told her i was going at 4 pm today ,) lessening the earache , cracked on chucking a scratching rig out on one rod with worm and squid , and all out peeler baits on the other had a hour with no bites , then as the tide was an hour away from high , it happened .............. weed weed and more weed FFS , sat down head in hands and cried ....... we decided after driving all that way and if we moved missing the best of the tide to stay put and stick it out so we did .......... weeded out on the run up and over high , then it stopped right on the ebb , enticing the hounds on the feed , well we had a mad few hours bagging up on smutts , even the sloth was on stealth mode and hit onto a few , so here goes with the best of the bunch , ranging from 6 1/2 lb to 12 lb 5 ozs including 2 doubles

now i dont care if we miss out on a point , it was bloody brilliant fun , must say hard luck to ed who look like having the same bad luck with the hounds as last year , lets hope he dosent come back again when the bass fishing starts with another double , cheers lewis for getting soaked when landing the hounds , great night in great company ,

Indeed it does , still early yet , i had about 12 hounds that night dont photo anything under 6 lb or hounds in pup , there unhooked on the beach and released , nearly time for hounds over 15 lb and lots of
