Town quay 28/04/09
Met up with rob last night at 6 pm on town quay on a quest to winkle out 5 different species betwen us
, set up and the heavens opened non stop for an hour
, baits were bluey ,squid, ragworm , and a bit of crab , waited for it to stop raining and launched a bait at distance and one in close , once the rain had gone it ended up being a nice calm but cold night , as expected pout fest from the off , with kamikaze pout launching themselves onto 4/0 hooks
, so species 1 for the count and plenty of them , next with a different sort of rattle i bring in a little palm sized plaice but first of the year .....

species no 2 for the count , then rob was in with his first woofer of the year and he was well pleased ...........

species no 3 , then i had my first shore caught fish over 1lb this year with another woofer
, made a nice bit of weight coming in with a big fat pout as well , as the tide reached its peak , all went quiet , still got the odd pout , then i got my first pollock of the year only small again but all count for the species hunt ,..............

species no 4
, tried and tried to bag no 5 but it wasnt to be was hoping to bag a bass on live bait but no interest at all untill daybreak , then it amounted to nothing , fished on untill 6am this morning , 12 hour sesh and 4 different species , good fun in great company
,
