Three nights hard work
Thursday evening the weather was settled and the Mrs informed me she was off to Bingo, so taking advanage of that I was on the beach by 7pm after digging a load of Lugworm.
That moon was very bright for fishing.

Well set up one rod with a flapper and Lugworm the other was a clip down with sandeel, I had 3 hours to high water. After an hour I get a good bite but missed it, Damn I thought, but at least their coming on the feed, wrong! By midnight that had been my only bite, so called it a night.
Friday arrived and it was wightfishing comp on Yaverland beach, Mick and I were set up by the start of the comp at 8pm.
Again a flapper rig looking for anything that happened along the other sandeel at distance for a Ray.
And the moon was very bright hardly needing a headlamp to bait up, this was taken about 10pm.

The end of the comp came at midnght, with no insize fish caught, infact only 3 small Pout were landed, we called it a night.
Now that was my 3rd blank on the trot, so Saturday again I was out looking for a fish arrived to find my usual spot taken, so I moved further along the beach and found a promising looking spot.
Again there was that big bright moon.

Flapper rigs went on both rods, one with lugworm the other with Ragworm.
Nothing happened for an hour, but after casting one rod out I returned to the rest to find the other had a major slack line bite, I waited for a while but it had gone. But 10 minutes afterwards the other rod went and this time I connected and a Bass of 2lb 2ozs came in.

Finally I'd broken my Duck, but things returned to being quiet after that, with only a small schoolie in the next 4 hours, so tired and cold I called it a night.
I'll be glad when this moon has gone.

Re: Three nights hard work
Just got in after 3 days in Cleveleys/Fleetwood literally falling asleep here so will post later. Good effort Davey, at least you get to go to bed between sessions, I get 3 hours in the car then go for worm but to be honest I just love being out there.
Not decided where we are camping this year but you never know.
