A night of mixed fortunes
I'd been out a couple of times during the week with only a couple of school bass to show for my efforts. So Friday evening arrived and I had in mind 2 venues, first venue the plan was to fish from low to half way up then move to the 2nd.
First venue target was the elusive Flounder also hopefully a scorpion fish. Arrived and was set up by 6.30pm, 2 hook flappers with ragworm. Nothing happened till 9.15pm when I had a small rattle resulting in another rockling. Ten minutes later and another similar bite and one target and new species was in, a short spined scorpion fish.

Photo taken I slipped it back, soon after I had another rockling but no sign of the flounders. Just gone 10.30pm it was time to move to the 2nd venue, Same baits and tactics, though I stuck a 3rd rod out with whole squid on a pennel in the vain hope of a Bass.
Billtrev was also there so went for a chat, he'd been there for a while without so much as a bite, so things didn't look promising, but returning to my rods I had a bite, probably a schoolie which I missed. 10 minutes later a constant rattle on my other rod saw me finally bring in my target fish, albeit a small one, a Flounder. Thats when things started to go wrong, the camera was working but the photos were just coming out black, so eventually I took the flounder back to the van knocked the interior lights on and took this photo with my phone, not good but at least shows it was caught.

Put it back baited up and then returned to the camera to see if I could work out why it wasn't working, thats when my headlight fell off my head to the ground and smashed. Well you can imagine I was none to happy by now.
Well fished on till 3am but all I could manage was another rockling, so called it a night.
So now I just had to buy another camera.
Still on the good side another 2 for the species list.
