Latest update received today via Email

Dear Stakeholder,
As the Liaison Officer for Irish Sea Conservation Zones I would like to invite you to attend a Marine Conservation Zones (MCZ) Awareness Drop-In-Day in Fleetwood on the last Saturday of this month.

DATE – Saturday 25th September 2010.
The project is seeking to finalize data collection by the end of October, so please do come along or get in touch with us to arrange an alternative time to meet. I look forward to speaking with you about the ways in which you value the sea in the context of the new Marine Protected Areas. This is an event for all sea users so please forward the attached email to interested persons.

Laura

Pop along to meet some of the team at the Fleetwood Library any time between 11am and 4pm.

For those who are interested and might just ' pop ' in the Library is at the end of Lords Street ( Fleetwood main shopping street ) Or go to the ferry cafe and walk down the road opposite towards the victorian? tram shelter, cross over and carry on down the road till you get to the Library

More info received about Irish Sea conservation Zone

Post  Tink on Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:28 am

Got This Today 16 /09/ 2010 Via Email

We just wanted to remind you that here are now only two weeks left for people to comment on the potential Marine Conservation Zones put forward in the Irish Sea Conservation Zones’ first progress report (attached).
We’ve been accepting comments since the first progress report was published in July. There will be two further progress reports over the coming months.
You can also contact the Irish Sea team or your spokesperson on the Irish Sea regional stakeholder group at any time (see website or contact me on the number below for details).
Please note that the potential zones in the report are tentative and liable to change in future progress reports.
If you would like to comment on the first progress report, please use the attached comment form as we can only accept comments in this format. Please send us your comments by email or post to arrive no later than Monday October 4th. The postal address is below.
You can also complete comment forms at two upcoming drop-in days. The first is in Fleetwood library on Saturday September 25th between 11am and 4pm, and the second is at Barrow Dock Museum on Saturday October 2nd between 10am and 4pm.
Recommendations for Marine Conservation Zones in the Irish Sea project area are being made by a regional stakeholder group made up of around 40 people with diverse interests in the Irish Sea, from fishing to wind farms.
Any comments we receive will be forwarded to the regional stakeholder group in time for them to be considered as the group develops its next progress report in October.
There will be two more progress reports before final recommendations are submitted to the government in June 2011. This will be followed by a formal public consultation starting at the end of 2011.

Quick Reminder from Laura

I’ll be at the Fleetwood Library this Saturday to advertise the latest developments with the Irish Sea Marine Conservation Zones Project.

Do swing by anytime between 11am – 4pm.
If you use the sea and haven’t done our survey, I’m happy to go through it with you. It takes about 30 minutes. Doing a survey will help us create maps that are vital to ensure all interests are considered, and will help ensure people’s activities are not unnecessarily restricted.
Best wishes,

Laura
