Alex wall, Seaforth docks

Post  Fishfinder on Fri May 07, 2010 9:43 am

Got there for low water at 12 o'clock in for 15 minutes & pulled this lovely little chap in.

A couple of lads next to me one on the inside like me blanked & his mate just over the wall on the outside got a couple of flatties that would have made nice earings, anyway they packed up & left me a few fresh blow worms as I only brought squid to target rays.

Gets to HW & nothing doing then just as the tide starts to turn I wrap a couple of worms in half a squid & get this little fat bugger.

Not the best day but I targetted 2 & got both so I must be improving. Laughing Laughing

Both fish went back.

The weather was a cold wind from behind all day but the rain held off until I had packed up, the river was absolutely flat all day, I fished simples with a 3 way swivel straight onto the leader & the weight straight onto this, 3 ft of 25lb fluorocarbon & a 3/o Aberdeen.

Both fish caught with a shorter cast, its really easy to be tempted to cast further than you need.

First time on this venue, next time I might take my uptiding gear.

Every bait came back shredded or eaten by crabs.

There was no chance of getting the worm back yesterday, they stripped a whole squid & 3 worms but left all the bait elastic in tact. Mad Mad

You need to be in a club that gives you insurance then you can apply to the docks for a permit.

Joining a club doesnt mean you have to become a match angler & I fish alone or with the misses everywhere I go. Well I start that way but I will talk to anyone hence why Im on here. Shocked Laughing Laughing
