Low Water Burry Port last night

Post  mikey on Sat Apr 17, 2010 3:11 am

Hi all, Have been giving it some welly this week was out again last night til 5 this morning, Neutral Nothing doing until just before low and I had my first bite was not sure if the fish was on so brought in my tackle to check bait but line snapped which is unusual for this area but think I had week knot as thats were the break was! Embarassed Anyway I tackled back up and carried on fishing, still getting bites but very slow then low and behold I hit a snag, I knew my end tackle was not too far out and water was very shallow so I waded out to were I was snagged, when I looked down I saw a fish swimming in circles and realised it was attached to the end tackle I had lost Very Happy It was a small codling about 1lb next to the codling was a garfish about 18inch long, it looked like it was watching over the codling! Shocked Anyway both fish were safely given passage back to open water and I retrieved all my tackle Very Happy I had one further codling and just before I packed up had a cracking bite and pulled in a 2lb flounder (hoping it was a Bass). Still the Bass are not showing in the estuary yet Sad Sorry no pics this time as not great photogenic conditions, (where did I dream that up from Rolling Eyes ) Happy fishing. Mike
