using up bait

Post  Davey on Thu Mar 18, 2010 5:36 am

The wife was working late Tuesday so thought I'd use up the worm left over from Sunday.Had 3 hours so went local, east Cowes by the old castle.

Its deeper water here and theres always a small chance of a Ray, so one rod went out with sandeel and the other rag.

After 10 minutes the rods were bent double with weed wound in and all the bait was gone. Bloody crabs.

So moved further down the beach, a lot shallower but less weed or crabs.

Well despite lots of small rattles all I could manage was this small schoolie.

Still a nice night to be out.

Good to see plenty of small stuff back at E-Cowes like usual, looking better for the rest of the Island.

Nice little bass Davey, you'll have that early ray yet.

Davey was that off the road or do you park up & go round the castle to the little beach, we only tried the road because of time but later got told " should have gone round the back".

Hoping to get back there this year, will get in touch if you dont mind & you can show me the ( secret) pubs.
