Had the chance to do a spot of bait digging for worms to day in Fleetwood with Birdy. The man is sickeningly good at spotting and pumping the worms but also just as sickeningly good at teaching you what to look for and how to pump for the worms. Now I have only just met Birdy but already know that he is VERY passionate about sea fishing and his home town of Fleetwood. He is also a strong believer of anything an able bodied fishermen can do so should a disabled fishermen should be able to all ...

Along with my fishing buddy "Mush" (who is a walking disabled guy) we tried out Hazel Court Ponds at Llysworney near Cowbridge in South Wales. My first time there and it's only 8 miles away from me

Unfortunately the weather gods didn't shine on us that day and we didn't catch any fish, but hey just being at the bankside is what matters and counts most, right?

Although they don't have any purpose built swims for wheelchair users, the ground is fairly hard in most places and fairly ...

This report is written in my own opinion.

Last week I went on a 48 hour session at Elphicks Fisheries in Kent with my fishing buddy Steve, who is also disabled.

Hmmm where to start!?

We spent 3 months planning this trip, we were promised over and over again via the phone and emails that the lake we were booked to fish was wheelchair friendly....their website even states that they are disabled friendly....what a joke!! Trouble is this was an expensive joke for us! Van hire, fuel, bait, ...

I have to say i think this section is a really nice touch .... so well done.

Bateman's Tower is a local mark i have fished since I was a lad and is very popular with locals. It has a car park nearbye (pay in the summer - free in the winter) and there is very good access with wheelchair ramps etc to get to the tower itself. The tower is railed for safety (handy for your rods as well) and there is a concrete promenade to get there and fish from. There is a cafe a stone's throw away which ...

His welcome note is well worthy of reading, not just by disabled but by us more fortunate able-bodied anglers:

Steve and his buddies are not averse to travelling having fished both Fleetwood and Kilnsea for the dark-side in the NW-NE matches. He's presently trying to organise ...

hi guys

A big thanks to andy for taking on this forum and im sure this side of the forum will do well.

The Photo you see is a disabled fishing spot a little further on past the car the wall drops down to short level which is ideal should you wish to visit the town of (Cleveleys) north west coast its not shown to well but you can park on the road side or next to the wall and it stretches for about 200 yards which leaves ample room and can be fished short range.

Hi all,

If you are living in the Swansea area and would like to get out to sea then check this out!

On their website it does say access for those with limited mobility but after chatting with them they have said that they can take wheelchair users without any major problems.

You do need to be a member of the club, which is the Mumbles Motorboat & Fishing Club, (clubhouse attached to the tackle shop Basstastic at Mumbles Pier) but it's not that expensive. There is also ample disabled ...
