ARE you a keen lure angler that enjoys spending a

few hours working a spinner off the beach for bass? Eastbourne offers some top action if that’s your bag.

Eastbourne is a well-known coastal town that attracts plenty of holidaymakers and sightseers every year to take in the cracking stretch of coast there.

Usually, fishing at a summer holiday resort presents a few problems to the angler but at Eastbourne it is actually possible to wet a line and bag up on mackerel, bass, scad and mullet.

Situated three miles to the east of Brighton Marina, Saltdean is a bass angler’s paradise with its deep gulleys and rocky outcrops.

There are deep beaches and groynes and some great new sea defences here that are ideal for float fishing and spinning. This is also a great place for collecting peeler crabs, prawns and other livebaits such a gobies. Please be careful if you go looking for bait on the rocks as they are very slippery at times and there are some deep gullies that are sometimes ...

Thought this may be of help to Buck, who is after some info on some marks.

IF a variety of species is your bag, then you

really should take a look at this area. Over recent years there have been some spectacular catches made, including stingrays, golden grey mullet and big bass.

Situated between Bognor Regis and Worthing on the Sussex coast, Littlehampton has a real fishing pedigree. Known as ‘Hampton’ in medieval times, it was christened Littlehampton by sailors so as to avoid confusion ...

Hi all, just got this information and thought it maybe useful.

It is permitted to fish Brighton Marina however there is a charge of £3 per rod £5 for 2 rods. There is a tackle shop located nearby (not sure how close though) where all baits can be purchased black lug etc are £2.75 per10.

I spoke to the chap in the tackle box (that's the name) who had some really good info and seems friendly enough, ie: where best to fish. The telephone numbers 01273 696477 (The Tackle Box)

I'd originally planned a trip to the Bird Reserve end of the beach on Saturday night but a quick look at the weather forecast Friday evening changed my mind and so I headed off at the last moment to fish the flood on a midnight tide, deciding to fish amongst the rock groynes to maximise my fishing time.

Things had roughened up a bit with a SW breeze and it was obvious from the off that the Whiting were not anything like as thick on the ground as my previous session; they came out steadily ...

I've been gunning to get on the beach again and with a good tide and an excellent weather forecast for Friday night headed for the Bird Reserve end of St Osyth. I decided to be a bit adventurous and walk from home in Jaywick but in hindsight it was probably a tad too adventurous as I've now killed my feet for a good few days, which is a shame as I received an invite to join Krakov at the Rock Groins and would probably have had a few hours fishing with him on Saturday night as well had I been ...

Thought I'd have a quick go on Jaywick Beach on Sunday night as I've not been on the beach yet and I needed a few hours out of the house. I grabbed a few frozen blacks and headed to the golf club end plonking the first bait out just before dark.

Although there was a fair boit of colour in the water, there was a severe lack of tide and it wasn't too much of a surprise that the fish didn't really paint the town red. I ended the stint with 2 Whiting of 8 oz tops but given that I haven't fished ...

As we are about to complete on our new bungalow on Monday I decided it was time for a last fishing session on Bateman's Tower as a Brightlingsea resident - I was hoping for better results than my last few sessions which have, quite frankly, been crap.

In an adventurous mood, I dug a couple of pounds of Ragworm in the evening and then, after a bite to eat and a couple of hours sit-down headed off with the gear, arriving at the Tower at about 12.15am.

It was a fairly big tide (3am ...

Lovely sunshine and those boats that passed by didn't cause too much bother, though apparently MR DV was struggling as we were way too close to a pub for him to ignore .... he promises me he isn't physically an alcoholic and that its all in his head.

Its not that I'm moving that far away (only Jaywick) but it does feel like a major step after 45 years by the Colne and the river seems to be making me pay for deserting her.

I decided to try the Wet Dock at Ipswich for a few Mullet as it was so nice , perfect in my opinion weather wise. I fished a late tide on the Tower on Saturday in beautifully calm weather, arriving at about 11pm clutching a pound of Ragworm and feeling fairly confident that there might be the chance of a few fish. I'd expected to have the place to myself but to my surprise found a couple of other anglers already there though luckily my favourite spot was still vacant and there was plenty of room for all.

Its a good venue for something sizeable and silver on the bigger tides particularly this early in the season, when the better fish haven't worked their way up the river. Favoutite bait on the river has always been Ragworm but I'd noticed the previous day that there were a lot of spent ragworm on the mud, indicating that they had spawned recently and so I had reason ...
